Terms of Service

Version 2026-09-01

These terms govern your use of the Digital Poster app and the online services behind it. Please read them. Using the app means you accept them.

Who can use it

You must be at least 16 and able to enter into a contract. If you are using the app on behalf of a household, you are responsible for those you share a poster with.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details secure and your email address current. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@flarepointlabs.com if you think it has been compromised.

The service

The app lets you set what your poster displays: artwork for films you choose, and trailers played through the official YouTube player. Film information and artwork come from TMDB. Discovery and trailer features depend on third parties and on our backend, and may occasionally be unavailable or change; the artwork already on your poster keeps showing regardless.

Acceptable use

Third-party services

Trailers are played through the YouTube embedded player. By using that feature you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Film data and artwork are provided by TMDB. This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB. We are not responsible for third-party content or for changes those providers make to their own services.

Content and intellectual property

The app, the device software, and our branding are ours or our licensors'. Film artwork and trailers belong to their respective owners. You keep any content that is genuinely yours, and you are responsible for having the right to display what you choose to display.

Paid features

The service is currently free to use. Some features may become part of a paid plan in future; if so, we will make the terms and price clear before you are charged, and anything a crowdfunding backer was promised will be honoured as promised. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.

Your device and your statutory rights

If you bought a Digital Poster device, your legal rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable law are unaffected by these terms. We commit to providing security updates for the device for a minimum period, published in our statement of compliance.

Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep the service running but do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free, and we do not control the third-party services it builds on. Except for the statutory rights and liabilities described below, the online service is provided "as is".

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or that arise from your misuse of the service.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using the app and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached. Your poster keeps working locally with the content already on it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will update the version and ask you to accept the new terms in the app before you continue.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
